Week #1

So ends week #1 of my new-yearsly-resolute marketing plan. I haven't actually written anything on them yet, but that should go pretty fast (say, in staff meeting tomorrow morning). I'm posting these weekly - doing them in clumps is just way easier. At the end of week one, I find myself with a surplus of images. Hooray! I completed 12 postcards this weekend so I am even a little ahead of the game - the best! But of course, it's past midnight and I guess this means I will have another week of sleep deprivation.

This dog did learn a new trick though - to keep Iggy from snuffing and snorting in my face in the morning I just need to feed her. Feed her. Not take her out on a 45 minute walk, toss her toys for her, rub her belly, etc. Nope. I still have to take her out to water the lawn and whatnot, but I still contend that this is a fantastic discovery, like electricity, or silly putty. I think some fourth graders should write about me.

And, did you see? Matthew posted a story - from the Dead Sea! It takes leaving the country to get the boy into blogging mode.

Are these "elite clients" people you have worked for in the past? How special do you think they will feel to get an original? I hope all the best for you and your resolutions. I have similiar, and yet not so defined ones. I.E. get high paying job with stellar insurance package, and achieve illustration fame.

Uh - if the "elite clients" were people I've worked for in the past, I'd be sending them postcards every three days.

I've basically picked people who I either
A. have some sort of connection to (Mr. X said I should contact you, Mr. Y said you would like my stuff, Mr. Z is your older brother and therefore you must do as he says, etc)
B. like their product (New Yorker, McSweeneys, New York Mag, The Village Voice, City Paper, etc)
C. want to jump their bones (Beck, Tom Brady, Sam Rockwell, Tom Brady, Beck, Beck, Beck, Becktc)

so far, no luck on getting addresses for the C list. Damn. But I am not discouraged....

Tom Brady?!? What is that? Football! I don't even know you anymore.

Yeah, okay - so I looked at the Tom Brady fan website to see why I loved him (aside from his strapping good looks and his general je ne sais quois) and I couldn't really find anything definitive... I had the feeling he was a corn-eating midwesterner, but he's from California. And he's one of them devout types, which really OUGHT to knock him right off my lust list, but, somehow it doesn't. I love the man. I just darn-tootin love him. Plus, Beck is one of them CRRRRAAAAzzzzYYY Scientologists. If I can love him, then I can love my Tommy.
